Rosario + Vampire II 24

Fong Fong and his zombie sister Ling Ling stir up trouble at the Youkai Academy's sports festival.

Last chapter it was the yaoi partner; this chapter is the dead girl; I wonder what sort of strange and wonderful being will join Tsukune's harem next.

Summary:
Mafia boy Fong Fong Wong is still looking to recruit Tsukune into his family's crime syndicate, and he thinks the academy's sports festival is the perfect place to defeat Tsukune without actually shedding blood. It so happens that Tsukune and his girls are all on one team while Fong Fong is on the other team. To help ensure victory, Fong Fong recruits his zombie sister Ling Ling, who issues the challenge to Tsukune's gang: if Tsukune's team loses, Tsukune has to join the Wong family mafia; if Tsukune's team wins, Tsukune and friends get an all-expenses-paid trip to China courtesy of the Wongs. Tsukune wants no part of this competition, but he is overruled by Kurumu and the girls.

Officially, the rules of the sports festival prohibits use of special abilities and monster forms, but the cheating is rampant from the very start. Ling Ling has brought a long an army of zombie students who drops bombs to decimate the competition, and surprisingly this is allowed by the headmaster. To counter this, Kurumu, Mizore, and Yukari recruit their mothers to take out the zombies (also allowed by the headmaster), and the scores between the two teams are very close before the final event. Seeing that the battle has become close, Ling Ling decides to participate in the last pivotal event. Before the last event starts, Moka tries to feed Tsukune with a lunch that she made, but the lunch is ruined a horde of zombies stampede past the couple, spilling the food onto the ground.

Inner Moka's version of Chun Li's Spinning Kick

The final event of the festival is a mock cavalry battle where pairs of competitors play mount and rider and the goal is to grab the hats of the riders from the opposite team. Kurumu goes after Ling Ling but ends up pulling Ling's head off, and Ling capitalizes by grabbing Kurumu's hat. Suddenly, Ling Ling is confronted by Inner Moka riding on top of Tsukune. Inner Moka is pissed that the zombies ruined the lunch that Outer Moka had made and she proceeds to beat the snots out of Ling, Fong, and all the zombies. The event then degenerates into a massive brawl between the two teams, and Tsukune's wish for a peaceful festival is ruined. Even worse, Ling Ling has transferred into the academy as a 3rd year student and will sure to cause Tsukune and the gang even more trouble.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another light-hearted and fillerish chapter of Rosario + Vampire II. We are still not back to the main plot about battling Fairy Tale, and we also didn't find out why the Wong family is so desperate to recruit Tsukune. On the other hand, this chapter introduced Fong's zombie sister Ling, who could very well end up in Tsukune's harem like all other attractive young female characters in this series. Fong filled the role of the yaoi partner in Tsukune's harem, so I suppose Ling will fill the role of dead girl. So if Tsukune were to "do it" with Ling, would that count as necrophilia? Hopefully we won't have to find out.
The other development directly relevant to the main plot is that Inner Moka took revenge on the zombies for ruining the lunch between Outer Moka and Tsukune, which indirectly shows that she cares about Tsukune. The series is dropping more hints about Inner Moka falling for Tsukune, and the show of affection will probably increase and become more direct as the series go on. This will probably lead to more Inner Moka ass-kicking (on enemies and also Tsukune and friends) as well, which is perfect since it wouldn't be Rosario + Vampire if Inner Moka didn't beat up anybody every so often.
