One Piece 560

The battle continues...

Just like Hancock is very protective of Luffy, Ivankov is very protective of his boy toys.

Summary:
Boa Hancock and Luffy meet up in the middle of the battlefield and Boa hands Luffy to key to Ace's lock (that she had acquired in preparation of this battle). Smoker tries to chase after Luffy but is blocked by Hancock. Luffy runs up to Ivankov who is chatting with Doflammingo in front of Kuma. Doflammingo states that Kuma made a deal with the government and became a test subject, and now he's so weaponized that he has lost his personality. Ivankov doesn't want to believe, but he is forced to react when Kuma starts attacking him and his okamas. Ivankov is pissed off by Kuma attacking his subordinates, and her responds by hitting Kuma with a Galaxy Wink and a hard kick. With Ivankov handling Kuma, Luffy and many of the other pirates charge ahead towards Ace's location with Buggy's group not far behind.

Near the Moby Dick, Crocodile and Mr. 1 are trying to fight their way towards Whitebeard, but Crocodile is knocked back by Diamond Jose. Crocodile happens to fall near Doflammingo, and when Jose tries to follow up with another attack he is stopped by the Shichibukai. Doflammingo then offers to work together with Crocodile.

Luffy is running towards Ace's location, but his path is blocked by "Hawk-Eyes" Mihawk.

Interesting. So Kuma really did become a robot. That's probably why he told Luffy that they'll never meet again back at the archipelago. I guess I just wasn't paying enough attention. I have no idea what Kuma is trying to achieve given that he used to be a buddy of Ivankov's and possibly Dragon's, and we might not find out for a while.

Anyways, a couple of match ups have been set up now in the chaotic battlefield, but given how many combatants there are these match-ups can easily change. There are still some people who are not fighting like Aokiji and Akainu. Luffy could possibly beat Mihawk, but it'll probably take everything Luffy has got. Getting into a long and arduous fight is not a good idea especially given that Sengoku has some devious plan lined up. The other match-ups are pretty interesting. I'm especially interested in Doflammingo+Croc vs. Jose, since I want to see what Doflammingo's abilities really are.

Finally, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised with Hancock getting the keys to the Ace's cuffs, since the people keeping the keys are most likely male and the vast majority of males cannot say no to the Empress.

Oh, One Piece is taking another break next week.
