Claymore 100

Clare gets whupped by Priscilla.

Priscilla thinks Clare would make a nice foot rest.

Summary:
In the middle of the spike shower, Clare, Helen and Deneve spot Priscilla walking towards them. Priscilla has been following a faint scent which leads her to Clare, but she doesn't recognize Clare. Clare, however, goes nuts and attacks Priscilla despite the threat of the spikes, but Priscilla easily pins her down and effortlessly destroys a spike flying towards her. Priscilla notes that the scent is coming from Clare, but she doesn't remember anything from seeing Clare's face, so she wonders if she should kill Clare to jog her memory. Helen attacks with her stretchable arm which prompts Priscilla to jump off of Clare. Priscilla quickly grabs Helen's arm, but Clare quickly rushes in for the attack. In the exchange Priscilla loses her right arm, but Clare herself takes hits in the shoulder and waist and Priscilla quickly regenerates her arm.

Deneve warns Clare to get away since it's apparent that Priscilla is way out of their league, but Clare tells Deneve and Helen to run because she is going to go all out. Despite complaints from Deneve and Helen, Clare explains that her ultimate goal in life is to kill Priscilla and proceeds to awaken all four of her limbs. As the spike shower stops, Clare charges at Priscilla, but suddenly Clare's transformation disappears she reverts back to human form.

Claymore has finally reached its 100th chapter! That's no small feat for a monthly series. Being the 100th chapter, I was expecting something special from the series, but this just turned out to be an average chapter. Looks like I got my hopes up too high.

Like all of us were expecting, Clare goes nuts but gets smacked around by the severely overpowered Priscilla. At this point, Priscilla is so overpowered now she is in the same league as Aizen from Bleach. So it turns out Priscilla was honing in on Clare's scent, or more likely Teresa's scent. There's no reason why Priscilla would remember the young Clare's scent, but she probably remembers Teresa's smell and Clare probably has Teresa's smell since she became a Claymore using Teresa's flesh. I'm not sure why Priscilla is so obsessed with the scent, but it's probably just because Priscilla wants to get her memories back and the scent is one of the few things she remember. I'm not sure what'll happen if Priscilla gets her memories back. There isn't that much for her to remember. Priscilla was a relatively new Claymore when she awakened, and the only event of note was the battle with Teresa.

I'm not surprised that Clare failed to awakened completely at the end, since it'll be the end of her character if she turned into a bloodthirsty monster. I'm a bit disappointed with Clare though. I wanted to see if she had learned any moves from Rafaela, but she just went straight for the awakening and even failed at that. As for why Clare failed to awaken, my guess is that the spirits of Jean and Rafaela living within Clare's body pulled Clare back because... uh... she's the main character.

Anyways, the situation didn't change much in this chapter. Clare, Helen, and Deneve still stand no chance against Priscilla, and Priscilla can still do whatever she wants with them. However, Clare and company are going to get out of the situation somehow, so either someone (Miria) will come to the rescue or better yet, Priscilla will go on to fight Rafaela/Luciela.
