The Umibouzu might be one of the largest humanoid creatures to appear in the series, but it's no match for the kraken.
Summary:
The remaining Straw Hats on the Sunny search for Luffy, Zoro and Sanji with the ship's lights, but the deep sea is too dark and too wide for them to see anything. Instead, the ship has attracted giant deep sea creatures and the crew has to be wary about not being eaten. The crew then notice that Caribou has escaped from his ropes. Caribou has hidden himself in a barrel and plans to murder the Straw Hats when they get to Fishman Island, but he is discovered by Franky who seals him inside the barrel.
After dodging around some thermal vents, the crew comes upon a bright light source ahead but quickly discovers that it's the lure of a massive sea devil (type of angler fish). The Sunny dodges the fish with quick burst of air, but the crew discovers that there is even more massive sea giant known as a Umibouzu right behind the sea devil. The Umibouzu yells at the sea devil (called Ankoro) for trying to eat the Sunny and punches the fish as punishment. Suddenly, the Straw Hats hear an eerie song coming through the waters, and to their surprise they find the "ghost" pirate ship The Flying Dutchman. The captain of the Flying Dutchman, Van der Dekken, orders the Umibouzu (named Wadatsumi) and Ankoro to knock the Sunny down so they can steal treasure from the ship, but suddenly the kraken appears out of nowhere and pummels Wadatsumi. The crew on the Sunny soon find out that the kraken is following Luffy's orders, and Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji manage to stay alive by sharing one bubble after two of their bubbles went bust, and they quickly get back aboard the Sunny. Before the Straw Hats and the kraken can face off against the Flying Dutchman again, the nearby underwater volcano starts to rumble and is getting ready to erupt.

The Straw Hat's deep sea adventures continue. It looks like the journey to Fishman Island is going to be an arc in itself, since the Straw Hats keep running into one thing after another. Other than running into giant deep sea creatures, the Straw Hats also ran into the legendary Flying Dutchman, but before a real fight can start a nearby volcano is ready to explode. It's one new development after another, and it helps to keep the story lively. I thought the the battle of giant sea monsters near the end was the highlight. I always liked those cheesy Godzilla/giant monster movies, so the kraken pummeling the Umibouzu reminiscent of those. The Flying Dutchman may turn out to be the main antagonists on this journey since Caribou is still in the comedic relief department, but we'll see if they are still around after the Straw Hats escape from the volcano blast.
