So close and yet so far.
Summary:
Kurono follows Tae's voice to the alien child among a crowd of aliens, but the alien child covers Tae's mouth and Kurono loses track of Tae. Kurono runs around crying and screaming, and he ends up running into a group of naked humans who escaped the slaughterhouse. Kurono wants to ditch them to continue looking for Tae, but suddenly he spots a bunch of aliens punks stomping away at the survivors. Kurono couldn't stand by and do nothing so he takes out his Gantz swords and cuts off the aliens' legs. The remaining humans sees Kurono as their savior and leader, and Kurono is forced to accept the role as alien troopers appear nearby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The "rescue Tae" operation has no end in sight. As expected, Kurono #1 doesn't quite get to Tae, but it looks like that particular storyline might be put on hold. Instead, Kurono is now trying to lead the other survivors to safety in hostile alien territory. Having Kurono play the survival game is not bad, but at this point I want to know what's going on with the other characters, particularly the jerks who hacked the Gantz balls. Some more hints on the grand scheme of things would do much keep the story interesting as well. Gantz has never really had a clear direction, but it's in need of a little direction right now. With Kurono #1 knocked off the track, Tae might be in a heap of trouble as the the alien child's new pet, but the story will probably keep her alive until Kurono #1 or some other friendly Gantzer finds her.
