Possibly a fate worse than death.
Summary:
Except for Tae, everyone in the group has been captured by the alien policemen. The lolicon tells Tae to run for it, but Tae cannot bring herself to move. Struggling mightily, the lolicon pulls out the threaded dart from his body and falls to the ground, and he leads Tae away from the crowds and into an alley. In the alley, the man begins to grow weak from his wounds. Before falling unconscious, the man reveals that he actually rescued Tae because she reminded him of his daughter who was killed during the invasion. Tae cries uncontrollably, but she suddenly notices an alien child standing at the alley entrance looking at her with interest. Meanwhile, Kurono #1 and the other survivors have emerged into the city and Kurono starts calling out for Tae. Tae hears Kurono and calls back, but she is grabbed by the alien child who starts walking away.

So the "lolicon" rescuer wasn't a real lolicon? A commenter actually called this correctly two chapters ago, but I'm a little disappointed. Given that Gantz is full of questionable characters, a lolicon wasn't out of place, although the dialogue of "but I'm 17.", "That's loli enough for me" gives it away. Anyways, Mr. Fake Lolicon has heroically passed away, and now Tae is in danger of becoming some alien's child pet/Barbie doll and that can be a nasty fate. Kids can be really cruel because they might not know better, and the aliens aren't concerned about the humane treatment of humans anyways. It sounds like Kurono did hear Tae's voice though, so he might reach her before anything truly gruesome happens to her. This "rescue Tae" storyline has been going pretty well so far, and I have a feeling Oku is going to milk it for all its worth so don't expect this to end any time soon.
