Things go awfully wrong at Carnival Corpse.
Summary:
Ganta is about to be bitten by the blood snake from Azami, but the snake is sliced into pieces by the arriving Sakigami Toto. Warden Tamaki is mildly surprised by the uninvited Toto, who happens to be the winner of the Carnival Corpse two years ago and the only Deadman to be able to stand toe-to-toe with the Wretched Egg. Toto's Branch of Sin allows him to copy other people's Branches of Sins, but he has been reset once before and therefore he only has Senji's power (after licking some of Senji's blood last chapter). Toto slays two of the Forgeries, and the rest of the Deadmen proceed to further cut up and burn the Forgeries' dead bodies. The Deadmen then focus their attention on the remaining two Forgeries and several of them rush at Azami. At this desperate moment Ganta screams for his comrades to stop, and suddenly a bright flash of light shines forth from his right palm.
Ganta's attack destroys most of the arena and disrupts the broadcast of the Carnival Corpse. The army official phones in to Tamaki expressing his concern, but Tamaki isn't worried and thinks that a windfall can be had from Ganta's sudden power surge. Back in the ruined arena, Ganta wakes up and is relieved to see Azami still alive, but his relief quickly turns to shock as he discovers the other Deadmen lying around injured by the rubble.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ganta with the one handed Kamehameha! I kind of expected Ganta's unknown powers to surface during the fight, but it's pretty impossible to predict what effect that attack will have since Azami is on the other side. I also didn't expect that "Mockingbird" Toto would show up, but he probably has some vested interest in Ganta and didn't want Ganta to die so easily. Toto did mention that he wants to get a taste of Ganta, so probably he's planning to copy Ganta's powers. Ganta's usual Branch of Sin isn't all that powerful, so it probably has something to with the crystal in his chest. That's definitely what Tamaki is interested in anyways.
Thanks to Ganta's sudden energy blast, most of the Deadmen are down. Senji is still alive and Toto is probably alive, but the other Deadmen, particular Minatsuki, are in pretty bad shape. I wonder if this will be the end of "Hummingbird" Minatsuki.
Hopefully the next chapter will be out soon.
